Proceeds to benefit the Kansas City Symphony and its youth programs
This year will mark By The Blade’s 6th consecutive year as the landscape designer for the Symphony Designers’ Showhouse. Open to the public for tours April 22 to May 14, area designers donate their time and materials in exchange for an opportunity to showcase their talents and support a great cause – the Kansas City Symphony and its youth programs.
This year’s Showhouse, located at 816 Gleed Terrace, Kansas City, Mo. in Historic Hyde Park, is owned by a young couple formerly of Parkville, Mo. More than 30 spaces will be transformed by Kansas City’s top designers.
Visitors will be dreaming of Holland as By The Blade will usher in spring at the Showhouse with 1,500 spectacular tulips! Perfect for Midwestern gardens, Red Apeldoorn tulips’ tall stems and large, bursting, cherry-red blooms are as hearty as they are striking. In addition to natural stone edging, a variety of plants, to include colorful annuals and rhododendrons, will be placed throughout the front landscape to provide aesthetic layers of color throughout all seasons. Large statuary planters with vibrant annuals will greet Showhouse visitors at the front entrance.
This year’s timeless landscape is purposefully designed to complement the home’s stately, natural stone exterior and will continue to provide rich color and warmth beyond this year’s event. We invite all our customers to experience our work and enjoy the livable art on display by Kansas City’s finest designers while supporting Kansas City’s performing arts.
